i would like to qns URA's proposal to increase overnight parking from $2 to $4. even though i do not own a car, i pity those who own one. it is indeed true that by increasing the price, demand will decrease. but it is not applicable to inelastic demand. so in this case, drivers will start with a surname CAI and last name will be TOU. it doesnt make sense. come on..... by increasing the overnight parking to $4, there will be a mad rush to purchase season parking which costs btw 60 to 90 ranging from surface carparks to multi carparks instead of paying $120? and if the carpark quotas are met, drivers would then have to pay the $4 straight. and if u can find a driver who will sell or scrap his car because of this price hike, find me. i will give u a treat... so... it doesnt solve the problem that season parking holders returning home to find all parking lots are full cos ultimately, it will still be full. tell me... where will these owners hide their cars?
LTA is doing their job to reduce the number of cars on the road but not SMRT? if u read TODAY papers daily, u will find that topics such as overcrowding in trains are dominating the forums? the frequency is always an issue and i always encountered poor ventilation which led to all sorts of smell. if i remove my shoes after a day at site, whew... u should knw wat happen next... maybe i should remove my shoes if a minister stood next to me next time... then he/she will do something abt it.... jus like the flooding case. or..... let the ministers go hme to find that there are no parking lots provided they stay in HDB.... lolol
furthermore, it is reported todae that there are over 50 cases of overpayment of salaries, bonuses, overtime claims, medical and dental subsidies to mission staff as well as double payment of medical expenses at ministry of foreign affairs. THIS IS IMPRESSIVE. i would like to change my job.
i think i shouldnt comment too much on the above... well, lets talk abt my life. my life is practically filled this and next week. i had to rush off at 5pm sharp daily to attend my safety course at boon lay.... song song gao boon lay.... and leaving at 5pm means i have to be double productive at work to meet my deadlines... well, hope i can clear as much as possible or else i would have to clear it up on sat...
